The verb is the word that defines an action of the subject in a sentence. The infinitives are divided into the root and the termination. The termination of the infinitive is always either –ar, –er or –ir.

Examples:

Habl   –   ar     (to talk)

Root      termination

Beb   –    er      (to drink)

Root       termination

Viv   –      ir       (to live)

Root       termination

For their conjugation, the verbs are divided into regular, irregular and radical.

Examples of regular verb conjugation:

Caminar (to walk)           yo           camino (I walk)

Comer (to eat)                 tú           comes (you eat)

Abrir (to open)                 él            abre (he opens)
