Use of the neutral article:
“Lo” is placed before an adjective to substantiate it. F.i.: lo Bueno (the good one), lo malo (the bad one), lo fácil (the easy one), lo difícil (the difficult one), lo necesario (the necessary one), lo major (the best one), etc.
