As was discussed in the description of this chapter, a regular verb in the present indicative time is formed by using the root of the infinitive, and adding the corresponding termination.

Regular verbs ending in –ar

Ejemplo:                             Trabajar                              (to work)

Yo                                          trabaj – o                            (I work)

Tú                                          trabaj – as                          (you work)

El, ella, usted                    trabaj – a                            (he, she, you (formal) work(s))

Nosotros                            trabaj – amos                   (we work)

Vosotros                             trabaj – áis                         (you (plural) work)

Ellos, ellas, ustedes        trabaj – an                         (they, you (formal) work)

Some much used verbs ending in –ar:

Esperar (to wait, to hope)           Trabajar (to work)          Viajar (to travel)

Caminar (to walk)                           Nececitar (to need)       Mirar (to look, to watch)

Estudiar (to study)                         Ayudar (to help)              Llamar (to call)

Regresar (to return)                      Pagar (to pay)                   Llevar (to take)

Comprar (to buy)                            Terminar (to finish)        Preparar (to prepare)

Etc.
